Individual contributions

House and Senate committees report contributions received from individuals on Form 3, Line 11(a). A contribution from an individual is itemized on Schedule A, supporting Line 11(a)(i), when it:

• exceeds $200 or
• aggregates over $200 when added to other contributions received from the same source during the election cycle.

To itemize a contribution, the committee discloses:

• Name of the source of receipt
• Mailing address
• Employer (if from an individual)
• Occupation (if from an individual)
• Election to which a contribution or loan was designated (indicated by checking “primary,” “general,” or “other” in the election designation box)
• Date of receipt
• Amount of receipt
• Aggregate election-cycle-to-date total of all receipts from the source

The committee reports the contribution from an individual, in this case from Nellie Custis, on Schedule A, supporting Line 11(a)(i). It includes the name, mailing address, employer, and occupation of the individual. It also includes the date of receipt, amount of receipt, election designation, and aggregate election cycle-to-date total for the contributor.

Reporting with FECFile

To enter a contribution from an individual, go to the Summary Page tab, right click on “Line 11(a) Individual contributions,” and select “new.”
